there was a boy, just an ordinary boy.
he lived his life simple but happy.
joy seemed like his best friend.
smiles and laughs he had as company.
he told himself, “this isn’t so bad.”
and there he goes.
adorable was he to many,
but then came calamity.
his head started to hurt pretty hard.
but all he did was disregard.
he told himself, “this isn’t so bad.”
and there he goes.
years go by and the infection spreads.
he met this girl and as time flew by,
love was seeded and bloomed like a flower.
so did his wound, he did not bother.
he told himself, “this isn’t so bad.”
and there he goes.
the wedding bells rang loud and far.
In this church two families have gathered,
to see this man and woman read their vows.
Promises they made with each other,
he told himself, “this isn’t so bad.”
and there he goes.
time took a bend and so did our dear old man.
oh yes he is old now,
with 5 children, 14 grandchildren and a cow.
As he rests on his rocking chair and views his family,
he told himself, “this isn’t so bad.”
and there he goes.
Health was not as kind and took a toll on our man.
on the bed he was and with a family in front of him so vast,
he knew these breaths will be his last.
Reminiscing of his past, a smile was planted on that fading face of his.
his eyes feels heavy, it started to fall,
just before it could very much close
he told himself, “this isn’t so bad.”
and there he goes.
